Our Team
The students and advisors behind Dollar Matters.
Leadership
Dollar Matters is led by a small, passionate team of college students committed to closing the financial literacy gap. Our leadership team handles strategy, partnerships, volunteer coordination, and curriculum development, all while balancing full course loads.
Volunteer network
Our 85 trained volunteers are the heart of Dollar Matters. They come from universities across our service cities, bringing diverse backgrounds and a shared belief that every young person deserves access to real financial education. Each volunteer completes a structured training program before leading their first workshop.
- 2–4 hour initial training covering curriculum, facilitation, and financial basics
- Ongoing support from lead coordinators
- Peer mentorship pairing new volunteers with experienced facilitators
Faculty advisors
Dollar Matters is supported by faculty advisors at our partner universities who provide academic guidance, help refine our curriculum, and connect us with research on financial literacy outcomes. Their expertise ensures our workshops reflect current, evidence-based best practices.
Join us
We're always looking for motivated college students to join our volunteer network. You don't need a finance degree, just a willingness to learn and a genuine interest in helping your community.
