Volunteer with Dollar Matters

High school and college students: join us in making financial literacy accessible to everyone.

Why volunteer?

Teaching financial literacy is one of the highest-impact things you can do with a few hours a month. Whether you're in high school or college, you'll build public speaking and curriculum delivery skills, deepen your own financial knowledge, and directly change the financial trajectory of the students you reach.

No finance background required; just enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to learn alongside us.

Frequently asked questions

Can high school students volunteer?
Yes! We welcome volunteers in high school and college. High school volunteers are a great fit: you're close in age to the students we teach, which makes the lessons feel relevant and relatable.

Do I need to be a finance or business major?
No. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and grade levels. We train you on everything you need to know.

How much time does it take?
Most volunteers commit 2–4 hours per month, one workshop session plus a short debrief.

Is this in-person or virtual?
Both. We offer in-person sessions at partnering schools and community centers, as well as virtual workshops.

Can I get service hours or course credit?
Yes. We provide official volunteer hours documentation for all volunteers. College students: many universities offer independent study or service-learning credit; we can provide documentation to support your application.
